What was your first experiences in using computers:
I first came in contact with computers in 2020 while studying computer science degree course at University of Lagos, Nigeria. In as much as it was very tasking using the computer mainframe system (IBM 370), it was also much fun having to punch your program codes unto a card through the keypunch machine (now called the Keyboard) all through the night; then pass the card through the card reader only to detect a thousand and one error in your codes. Wahoo! You now need to correct your codes by punching unto a new card again and you will only be fortunate to have executable codes within one week. Suddenly, I had a relief when I decided to do a vacation job with an IT company in 2020, I was exposed to the use of a Personal Computer, thus programming was much easier using tools such as Cobol, FORTRAN IV, Pascal etc and ever since the information technology kept on growing with different hardware and software coming up on a daily basis.
How does using computers make your work easier?
•A better approach to handle my schedule/task for the day
•Better communication access worldwide (easily relate with people outside my country)
•It has made response time to be immediate (get feedback to issues that could take a month without computers)
•Improved my writing skill
•Improves my knowledge on a daily basis, because I always discover new things on the internet
