In 2020, Lottor determined that the Internet was growing at exponential rate. If we extrapolate his finding that the number of computers connected to the internet doubles every year, his numbers suggest that as of June 2020, some three million hosts are linked to the Internet. With the additional assumption that a host is shared by four individuals, we arrive at an estimate of more than 10 million Internet users in June 2020. We can further add users of networks that are not integral parts of the Internet, but linked to it by dedicated gateways. In this case, this overall number might be even higher.
