Thetha - The SANGONeT ICT Discussion Forum
Speakers will introduce the concept of free and open source software (OSS), discuss its relevance to civil society, and explore business and government positions in this regard. A practical demonstration of OSS will also be held during the meeting.
During the next few weeks SANGONeT will distribute information on OSS to assist CSOs in preparing for this Thetha.
The Thetha will be held at the Parktonian Hotel, 120 De Korte Street, Braamfontein (09h00-13h00).
Thetha - The SANGONeT ICT Discussion Forum series aims to focus specifically on the ICT challenges facing the CSO sector, highlighting and promoting practical benefits, opportunities and lessons learned to date.
The objectives of the Thetha series are the following:
- To highlight and promote the practical benefits and opportunities
provided by ICTs to Southern African CSOs;
- To provide Southern African CSOs with an opportunity to reflect
on the impact of ICTs on their work and to share lessons and
experiences of common concern.
Thetha is a Nguni verb meaning let's talk, discuss, debate, share
opinions and engage each other.
