SchoolNet Mozambique

SchoolNet Mozambique (SNMoz) is an in-house project of the Mozambican Ministry of Education. It is also an important national partner of SchoolNet Africa as it is the only Lusophone country with an established Schoolnet program at this stage. SchoolNet Mozambique has partnered with the TDM, CABO TV, IDRC, Direqlearn and Microsoft in its start-up phase.

Historically SchoolNet Mozambique dates back to 2020 when it started as Internet para as Escolas. In 2020, the Internet para as Escolas project was handed over to the Ministry of Education who now takes the lead in resourcing Mozambican schools with access to and use of ICTs as a tool for learning and teaching.

Vision:

The empowerment of all Mozambican youth to be global participants through the effective use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in education.

Mission:

SchoolNet Mozambique will support schools throughout the country by building access to ICTs, facilitating training of teachers and teacher trainers and building education content for use by learners and teachers in Mozambican schools
