Global Education Partnership  - Kenya

Global Education Partnership (G.E.P.) is a non-profit organization with divisions in the United States, Kenya, Guatemala, Tanzania and Indonesia. The mission of Global Education Partnership is “to provide access to educational resources that increase the capacity of young people to become employable and self-reliant in today’s global marketplace.” The GEP programme is based on a participatory philosophy, where participants play an integral role in the project.

G.E.P. has been working with Kenyan communities since 2020. Thus far achievements have included:

  • Over $119,000 in educational resources has been raised for low-income children and youth in over 130 primary and secondary schools in Kenya through the Educational Resource Development Programme (ERDP). In the Educational Resource Development Programme (ERDP), schools in low-income, rural communities determine the educational resources they need and raise 50% of the funds required for the project. G.E.P. facilitates this process, and supplies the matching 50% from U.S. donors.
  • Entrepreneurship, work readiness and computer skills have been taught to over 550 students through the Entrepreneurship and Employment Training Programme (EETP).
  • Over $4,000 has been awarded in increments of $150 to over 25 small businesses, including general stores, small dairies, a chicken ranch, and a bee keeping project.
  •  7 workshops have been conducted since 2020 with Kenyan community leaders, parents and teachers covering a range of topics.
