IEARN  Sierra Leone

iEARN is working with administrators of individual schools to enable students to engage in online projects. Efforts are being made to provide computers to a small number of schools in the Freetown area. The mission of iEARN Sierra Leone is the rehabilitation of youth who have endured hardship from war and war’s effects. Using computers and the Internet, teachers help young people to build ICT and communications skills with the intent to reclaim their potential as productive citizens. Youth participate in online projects covering a range of issues including peace, human rights, conflict resolution, democratic values, environmental concerns and sustainable development. Through this sharing of experiences, trust and life skills are gained.
